the dessert that is just way too easy

August 12, 2010

in Mom blogs,mom says

This is something that I wish I hadn’t learned to do.

It is easy.

And yummy.

A little TOO easy and yummy.

And hits the spot for a simple dessert or as a late night snack…

It is Super Duper Extra Easy Cherry Pudding Pie.

Usually I make up a full box of vanilla pudding which means I have to eat a full box of pudding, but I was inspired to try the Snack Pack size due to the current Combo-Loco deals for my  Back-to-School Meal Maker Challenge this week sponsored by H-E-B and ConAgra.

I know it doesn’t LOOK like a meal, but I can eat my weight in this so I think it should qualify.

This uses two of the foods that will be on special next week at H-E-B:

When you buy Reddi Wip, get a free 4-pack Snack Pack Pudding (this is an in-store combo-loco deal that starts Wednesday, Aug. 18 and ends Tuesday, Aug. 31)

You might want to pick up two…

or more.

Okee dokee…this is SUPER complicated.

You might want to take notes.

How to make Super Duper Extra Easy Cherry Pudding Pie:

  1. Open a Snack Pack pudding cup of your choice – vanilla is good for a more cherry cheesecake feel, chocolate is great for a black forest taste.
  2. Spoon a generous amount of cherry pie filling into the pudding cup.
  3. Top with Reddi Wip.
  4. Use graham crackers as a spoon.

See, this dessert is so amazing it even leaves you dirty dish free.

This is Week 3 of the H-E-B/ConAgra sponsored Back-to-School Meal Maker Challenge. For my participation I have received products and compensation.

Watch in future weeks for giveaways from H-E-B & ConAgra!

Just posting it made me hungry…and a warning about using a four pack Snack Pack – it is easy to just keep opening them…!

Um – holy heck does that look amazing! Is it wrong that I’m pretty sure I could eat a whole can of cherry filling on my own? :)

I can testify that it is possible…

OMG who would have thought you could make a bunch of prepped food look like you spent time on it! Love it. IF you really want to fool them, scoop the pudding out of the container and into a beautiful dessert cup!

Love these HEB Back to School Meal Maker Challenges. I need some good after school snacks, plus meals and desserts once school starts back up.

oooh why do you challenge me to be a better mom? Wait… isn’t that supposed to be a GOOD thing!!! ;)

There are days that I find extra pudding cups in the refrigerator and rather than wait for my wife to bring them to work (which I swear she never does) I can make this when she’s in the mood for some dessert.

Thanks for sharing,
